GROUNDBREAKING   All are invited to attend this historic event in the lift of our church!  Sunday, August 29th we will meet at 7pm in the Guyer parking lot and walk across to the land together.  Bring your shovels and wear your favorite Faith T-shirt.  We will cross over to our land together for a time of prayer and celebration that you will not want to miss!

MISSION OPPORTUNITY Are you looking for a way to BE the church and serve in our community? Faith church is partnering with other area churches to provide a free breakfast to those in need on Sunday mornings. The breakfasts will be held at First UMC in Denton each week. Volunteers are needed to cook, serve and visit with guests. We are gathering a team to help in this effort on a rotational basis. If you are interested in becoming part of this team, please contact our Mission Team leaders Tim and Beth Hendrickson at timhendrickson7@gmail.com 

FAITH IS GROWING  We are looking for volunteers to help with children's Sunday School and with the nursery.  Please Email Jeni Walsh at Children@TryFaith.orgif you would like to join the volunteer rotation.

NEW COLLEGE_AGED MINISTRY   If you know someone who is college-aged, let them know about the new ministry we are starting at Faith.  Kelly Born and Jennifer McLarty are leading it.  For more information, contact the church office.  And if you know the address of a college student who is currently away at school. get that information to the church so that we can stay connected to them.

 

NEW SUNDAY SCHOOL -The Faith Journeys class will start a new study on Max Lucado's book "Fearless" this Sunday.  All are welcome.  Contact Serena for more information.

 

WEDNESDAY WOMEN OF FAITH Ladies please join us for a six-week study entitled "Priorities-Tyranny of the Urgent" by Charles Hummel.  This new study will start on Sept. 8th.  We meet each week from 7:30-9pm in various member's homes for fellowship, prayer, discussion and lots of fun and laughter.  For more information please contact Jenni Kerber at jenni.poo@charter.net

 

FELLOWSHIP AND FAIRWAYS GOLF TOURNAMENT Sunday, September 26th at Bridlewood.  Proceeds benefit "Imagine No Malaria"  See Pastor John for more information.

 

INTERESTED IN GROWING YOUR FAITH?   The "Walk to Emmaus" is a three-day retreat experience for spiritual renewal.  Think of a cross between church camp and adult confirmation!  The next men's walk will be September 16th-19, and the women's walk will be October 7-10.  Both retreats are held at Lake Sharon.  Talk to Pastor John for more information or visit www.dentonemmaus.org.

 

 FAITH MISSION OPPORTUNITIES

* 1st Meal- Faith church, in partnership with other area churches, will help to provide a weekly breakfast for the homeless.  Faith will support this effort on the 4th Sunday of each month.  We need folk to help cook, serve and worship with the guests.  This is a great opportunity please stop by the iServe table for more information.

* "ZOE Ministry- Giving Hope to Orphans in Africa"  Because  of your support, Faith is now the co-sponsor of the "Athiru Rwujine" working Group in Kenya!!  Please keep ZOE in your prayers.

* Tickets for the "Carry the Light" concert at Bass Performance Hall on Sept. 26th benefiting the ZOE Ministry are now on sale at www.BASSHALL.com.

 

NEED FLOWERS FOR THE FALL? Beginning Sunday, September 5th the youth will be taking orders for beautiful fall pansies.  The 4" pots will be sold in flats of 20.  All colors and types will be sold.  All proceeds will be applied to the youth fund for our 2011 mission trips.  Don't forget to bring your checkbooks and support a great cause.  With your generous help in 2010, 46 youth and adults spread God's love to others in need through two mission trips.  With your help, even more students will be able to go in 2011.  Questions?  Contact Gina at Gina@tryfaith.org.
